As a natural light photographer, I typically work outdoors if the weather cooperates if not then there are several local studios with various designs to rent that are reasonable in price. Living in Northern Kentucky I’m blessed to be centered between three states – Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. These three states have numerous options all within a tank or less of gas. You don’t have to go far to take advantage of both city skylines and country farms lined with wooden fences. I love the variety and so do my clients.
I’ve lived in Kentucky since 1996 either in Boone, Kenton or Campbell counties in Northern Kentucky and a several year adventure in Jefferson Country (Louisville). The local and state investment into parks, arboretums and downtown areas provides for a vast variety of backgrounds when scheduling portrait sessions.
A few of my favorite spots…
o This is my new hometown park. It is great for sunsets portraits with the lake in the background! I’ve been blessed to take maternity, first day of school and dance recital portraits at this location.
o Great for walking shots with the whole family! Family friend park where you can bribe the kiddos that they can go play as long as they give you those great family shots first!
o I love shooting at Newport on the Levee. Bridges, buildings, and an urban vibe provide something different with all the angels and provides new experience each time you work there.
o This place has it all but the view of the Cincinnati skyline is the cherry on top at the overlook. As a photographer this place is exceptional as I’ve been able to capture HS senior portraits, engagements and anniversary sessions.
o Playground pictures for kids, walking paths and flowering trees. It is a beautiful backdrop for photography during all 4 seasons.
o What photographer is going to say no to party lights strung across the street! What a hometown welcome and great for pictures! Whether it is for high school seniors celebrating their city to newly engaged couple walking down the street with the twinkling lights in the background.

o This is how I feel about Ault Park…It’s always a good idea for photoshoots! Cherry trees, walking paths, architecture, river views and so much more!
o Small town feel so you can capture the urban architecture but also go a few blocks up to grab the river views. Great area for senior photos!
Photographers like me will work most anywhere as long as the lighting is good, and the precipitation stays away as our cameras are not water proof! One of the biggest perks of being a photographer is the opportunity to go on new adventures with our clients to new locations.
